1. Initiation, organization and management of peace process
2. Elaboration of institutional mechanisms for unconditional return of refugees and IDPs in safety and dignity, as well as contributing towards implementation of those mechanisms.
3. Restoration of economic ties with Abkhazia and  Tskhinvali Region/ South Ossetia and contribution to the joint  economic activities;
4. Restoration and development of traditional social relations with those regions
5. Elaboration of mutually acceptable system of political arrangement that is based on liberal-democratic principles.

• Utilization of existing knowledge, experience and other resources accumulated  in local and international non-governmental sector, as well as in academic and business circles;
• Active involvement of public diplomacy in negotiations and in the process of confidence building;
• Elaboration  and implementation  of confidence building activities between conflicting parties;
• Research and analyze current processes in conflict zones;
• Informing society on peaceful processes and on existing situation in the conflict regions;
• Evaluation and analysis of peace formats, and elaboration of suggestions for their optimization;
• Negotiating with international organizations, foreign governmental and non-governmental structures in order to achieve goals of the Office;
• Coordination of activities with other state agencies of Georgia, in order to contribute to the process of  reintegration;
• Representation of the Government of Georgia in all negotiations regarding the conflict regions;
• Organization and management of activities of high and expert level interagency commissions on issues related to conflict regions;
• Organization of special reintegration fund, initiation of proper projects and supervision of their implementation.
