The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili took part in the two-day seminar on "NATO-choosing peaceful and stable development".
Teachers of the villages located along the dividing line of the Shida Kartli, as well as their colleagues from Tbilisi, attended the seminar. They were introduced to the history of NATO, Georgia's cooperation with the Alliance, participation in the peacekeeping missions of the Georgian armed forces etc. At the seminar, the State Minister appealed to the teachers and thanked them for their hard work.
"Meeting with teachers is always pleasant for me, because they have one of the most important professions. They educate our children on the values on which our State stands. For me it is especially important that today there are teachers from villages located along the dividing line, whose work and contribution should be assessed doubly. In a very difficult situation, they not only cope with local problems, but also dignify the future generation. The aim of the State is to be near these people. As you know, the villages along the dividing lines – together with their population – are among the main priorities of Georgia. Under my co-chairmanship, together with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, there is a special commission, which has been engaged in the settlement of existing problems in these villages for the last four years. We are trying to help the local population, which, despite the problems, does not leave these places. In the future, we will continue to support them more actively”, - said Tsikhelashvili.
