Ketevan Tsikhelashvili held bilateral meetings in Batumi

Within the framework of the International Conference "European Path of Georgia", taking place in Batumi, the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili held bilateral meetings with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Georgia Jan Kelly, the Director of the European External Action Service for Eastern Partnership countries, Central Asia , Russia and the OSCE by Luc Devin and the Director General for Political and Security Issues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Italy Guido de Sanctis.

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili provided foreign partners with the information about the current situation in the occupied territories, the installation of barbed wires along the dividing line, the construction of various fortifications, illegal arrests, agricultural restrictions etc.

During the meeting the State Minister also spoke about the policy of reconciliation and involvement of the Government of Georgia. The importance of the US and the European structures support of the peaceful policy was mentioned.

The participants also discussed the necessity to develop facilitated mechanisms for education access to the population of occupied territories and the importance of civil society participation in the process of conflicts peaceful resolution.
