Referral service State program

The Government of Georgian conducts a national strategy towards Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region / South Ossetia: engagement through cooperation and an appropriate Action plan. As part of this document the access to education and health care has particular importance.

Residents of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region / South Ossetia, those who do not have ID card or the passport of the citizen of Georgia, can take advantage of this government program. They can receive high quality medical care in the leading hospitals of Georgia for free.

In order to receive a petition to the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia they should send to the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality the following documents:

  • The application referred to the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality
  • A copy of the identification document of the applicant
  • A reference on health state (form 100)
  • An invoice of the expenses of medical assistance, together with calculation

Once a week the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia held a meeting of the commission formed specifically for consideration of these issues. After analysis of the appropriate data, the commission shall consider the availability of funding of the applicant and define the purpose of such funding.

In the cases, when patient needs transportation, the Office of the State Minister informs the Department of Emergency Situations Coordination and Regime and they transport the patient to the appropriate medical clinic.
