Exhibition "My House in Abkhazia" was held in the Parliament of Georgia to mark the Day of Abkhazia, which was attended by the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
Children from IDP families from Abkhazia participated in the exhibition and presented their drawings and pictures. As the State Minister said, their works were very interesting, sad but full of love.
"Every day in our country is “Abkhazetoba”. For many people Abkhazia is a daily thought. And for us it is an everyday work that our main goal - to achieve the united, prosperous future by peaceful reconciliation.
"A lot of challenges that alienate people from each other, do not allow IDPs to return to their homes we should overcome by concrete steps. Exactly in this style I mentioned the Government's new peace initiative "A Step for a Better Future", which is primarily created for the needs of the victims of the conflict. We have such people in Georgian, Abkhazian and Ossetian society. This initiative is aimed on confidence building and reconciliation", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
The event was also attended by the Chairman of Parliament, MPs of the parliamentary majority and representatives of the Abkhazian government. On May 23, the day of commemoration of Svimon Kananeli, “Abkhazetoba: by the initiative of the Catholicos - Patriarch of All Georgia is celebrated from 2014.
