The 88th Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism meeting took place in Ergneti

The 88th Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism meeting took place in Ergneti, where the special attention was paid to Archil Tutunashvili's issue. Representatives of the central government of Georgia requested to transfer his internal organs.

During the meeting Davit Basharuli's case was discussed once again. The Georgian side explicitly explained that the above mentioned issue is extremely importance and it will be the subject of discussion until the truth is not established.

The sides also talked about the illegal persecution of Tamar Mearakishvili, civil activist in Akhalgori, by the de facto regime. The central government authorities called on the Ossetian side to stop the permanent restrictions of Mearakishvili's rights.

Participants of the meeting also discussed all important incidents in the occupied region and surrounding territories, which threaten stability and security.

The participants also discussed the cases of illegal detentions of Georgian citizens, so called borderization facts and restrictions of freedom of movement for locals.

The next meeting of IPRM will take place on 14 September 2018.
