KETEVAN TSIKHELASHVILI HAD MEETING WITH FABIAN HAMILTON AND FREDERIK R. HYDE-CHAMBERS

State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia Ketevan Tsikhelashvili had meeting with British Deputy, Shadow Minister for Peace and Disarmament Fabian Hamilton and Executive Chairperson of Enterprise and Parliamentary Dialogue International Frederik R. Hyde-Chambers and provided them with the information on activities of the Office of the State Minister and the directions the Office is working in. 

The central topic was the existing situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. Special focus was made on the facts of violation of human rights. The State Minister provided detailed information about the challenges, faced by the citizens, living in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region. She talked about the situation of ethnic Georgian population, living in Gali and Akhalgori districts, the situation following limitation of free movement and prohibition of education in the native language. 

The guests expressed interest in the state policy for reconciliation and involvement of Georgia. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili familiarized them with the key directions of the above-mentioned policy and reviewed new governmental peaceful initiative “Step towards the Better Future”, directed towards the improvement of situation of the population, living in occupied territories. 

The State Minister thanked British guests for support of integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
