Presentation of internship program for persons benefiting from the "1 + 4 program" in Georgian language training in Samtskhe-Javakheti State University was held, which was announced today.
The program designed for ethnic minority students is implemented by the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality of Georgia, with the UN Association of Georgia and the National Bureau of Public Service. The goal of the program is to promote youth employment, engagement and civic integration.
The program has been implemented by the initiative of State Minister Ketevan Tsikhelashvili since 2017. “1+4” program beneficiaries are provided with the opportunity to take an internship in governmental agencies, both at central and local level from 1 to 6 months in the preferred field.
"This is a very good opportunity for encouraging employment of ethnic minority representatives, to support the process of civil integration and engagement. The project was quite successful, the experience of previous years showed that enterprise succeeded. We have a number of successful examples of young people employed in the same place, where they have undergone internships. That is why, by the end of 2017, on the basis of positive results we decided to institutionalize it, " - Eliso Lomidze, head of the Civil Interagency Division of the State Minister's Office at the presentation noted.
At the presentation the university students were informed with the details of the internship program and answered their questions.
