"These formats are not only to maintain, but also cost-effective to turn" -State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili commented on the statement made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zaharova regarding that "Georgian partners are not ready to participate in joint work that reduces tensions in the border area."

According to the State Minister, the Georgian side is constructively engaged in all the negotiations and clearly states everywhere, Including the recent Geneva rounds that the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism acceptance should continue, That it is necessary for the basic stability needed for the daily lives of the population living on both sides of the wire fences.

"It is not clear what is the purpose of such statements, when the position of the Georgian side is so clear. These formats should not only be maintained but also become effective, since peace and stability is necessary to change today's status quo and resolve the conflict peacefully.

‘’Of course, there can be no talks on any borders and it everyone should be aware of it, including the Russian Federation. Today we are talking about occupation line fenced by barbed wire, that prevents people from everyday lives. In very difficult situation are especially people living beyond the barbed wire fences will be they Georgians, Ossetians or Abkhazians. Georgians living here are in even more difficult situation as, they suffer from double discrimination, "- said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
