October 27 is the day of Abkhaz language protection. The Office of the State Minister congratulates, first and foremost we congratulate the Abkhaz community at first.

The protection of the Abkhaz language is guaranteed by the constitution of Georgia and it is a constitutional obligation. Unfortunately, now Abkhaz language and identity are under serious threats due to the Russianization of the occupied territories, and with this background it is a most important task for state.

The Office of the State Minister continues to work with various agencies to further strengthen and expand the opportunities for language preservation and development in academic and scientific circles, as well as for anyone who wants to learn Abkhazian language.
