Zviad Zviadadze, the Head of Department of Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Former Autonomous District of South Ossetia visited the village of Chorchana.

First of all he arrived at the police checkpoint near the village, spoke with the representatives of the Interior Ministry and was briefed on the situation on the ground.

Later, together with Khashuri's majoritarian MP Simon Noza, Shida Kartli State Representative-Governor Giorgi Khojevanishvili and his deputy Amiran Christesiashvili he met with the population of Chorchana. Representatives of the legislature, central and local authorities introduced the situation to the population and received information about the problems and needs of the village.

“As we know, 18 families live here. In summer the population is increasing. These people have gas pipelines, now the problem of internal rural roads have to be resolved. The village is served by a school bus and has “mountain status”. However, there are some problems.

“First of all here was the security issue. We explained the situation to the population. As you know, a Georgian checkpoint was arranged in the vicinity of the village Chorchana. Consequently, misunderstandings over the past two days have certainly been a matter of concern for locals. We met, talked and explained that there is no danger and they can continue living in the village peacefully”, - said Zviad Zviadadze.
