"It is necessary to move towards the conflict resolution and this must be done unambiguously and without any war, only peacefully"

“The Prime Minister has made it very clear first of all that the main challenge for our country is occupation and it is also important that it is not just occupation of 20% of the territories. This is an occupation of human capital, of our economic and development potential. Such a statement the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili made in the parliament, where the MPs expressed their confidence to the renewed Government.

According to the State Minister, it is necessary for the country to move towards resolving of the conflict. And this must be done unambiguously and emphatically without war, only peacefully.

“This is our chosen course that we will not deviate from. Our approach, the handwriting of Government is a matter of reasonable, pragmatic, transparent policy. It is primarily about the safety and well-being of those who are under daily occupation pressure.

"I would like once again underline what was said today in the hall and what was also emphasized by the Prime Minister – each of us should understand our actions.

Of course, first of all, the actions of the Government, but also of the each member of the society – their statements, movement in this direction, regarding the occupation, will have a direct impact on the population living along the occupation line, living on the occupied territories, as well as on IDPs. Therefore, we must be equipped with the utmost responsibility. Unfortunately, this does not happen often. Often it is the occupation that is manipulated and speculated for political or other purposes that is unacceptable to me personally, and I have mentioned this in my speech as well. Our policy is far from it", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.

According to her, the country has very difficult challenges. As the State Minister noted, even now, the movement towards Akhalgori is stalled, which is a very serious problem for the population. According to Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, all efforts are made to restore the limited form of movement that exists.

“Also, as you know, we are working to resolve the issue in the vicinity of the village of Chorchana, which is an important issue for the security of our population. For us, the safety of the residents here and there is equally important.

"We have a vision, a plan, a very specific policy - de-occupation from Russia, reconciliation of our societies and achieving this through our engagement policy, including a very ambitious, complex and majority-supported by the Parliament peace initiative “A Step to a Better Future", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
