State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with family members of Vazha Gaprindashvili, an illegally detained doctor, and provided them with information from the Geneva discussions.
Ketevan Tsikhelashvili also introduced Gaprindashvili’s wife and daughters the work that every relevant state agency performs on a 24-hour basis for unconditional release of a doctor.
“We talked with Vazha Gaprindashvili’s family about the latest developments, including the first information received from the Geneva discussions. The family and I and other Government agencies regularly contact and exchange information, as this is one of the key issues. For our delegation in Geneva, the unconditional release of Vazha Gaprindashvili was one of the main topics to focus on with our partners. Also, of course, the closure of the so-called crossing point in Akhalgori direction.
Regular communication with the family is very important. They are looking forward to the release of Vazha Gaprindashvili, as well as our entire society and already our international partners, as this issue is well known in all capitals, at all levels. We think and hope that mobilizing such an unprecedented effort will work”, - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
