Tea Akhvlediani paid tribute to the memory of those killed in the fight for the unity of Georgia

“Today’s date symbolizes the extremely painful, immeasurable grief of the people of Abkhazia, the immeasurable pain caused by human tragedy and sacrifice, the suffering of hundreds of thousands of refugees and the tears of many of our fellow citizens. Today I bow before our heroes and all the citizens whose merits for the unity of the country we will always remember. Together we must continue the peace process to achieve the unification of our people, the prosperity of Abkhazians and Georgians in a common, strong and European state”, - said the State Minister Tea Akhvlediani.

On the occasion of the fall of Sokhumi, State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani, together with the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, members of the Government, Grigol Liluashvili, Head of the State Security Service and Ruslan Abashidze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, paid tribute to the heroes of Georgia, laid a wreath at the Heroes’ Memorial.

Later, State Minister Tea Akhvlediani, together with the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Ruslan Abashidze, laid a wreath at the memorial to the national hero of Georgia, Zhiuli Shartava, and paid tribute to his memory.
