The Parliament heard the State Minister for Reconciliation, Tea Akhvlediani

The Interim Commission on Territorial Integrity and De-Occupation heard the State Minister for Reconciliation, reporting on the measures taken in view of the encouragement of the trade along the occupation line within the initiative “Step to a Better Future”.

At the closed session of the commission, Tea Akhvlediani presented a report on the activities carried out within the framework of the Georgian Government’s peace initiative “Step to a Better Future” to the MPs and representatives of non-governmental organizations. 

“Regarding the activities of the Office of the State Minister, in particular, the results achieved in the process of implementing of the state policy of engagement and reconciliation, whether it is the further development of these peace initiatives or the process of coordinating the strategic review, we consider intensive cooperation in the parliamentary dimension to be extremely important.

That is what my speech today served within the framework of the Interim Commission on Territorial Integrity and De-Occupation heard the State Minister for Reconciliation, with which we have regular cooperation, as well as with the civil sector community, which also attended today's session.

We discussed the current situation in the occupied regions of Georgia, the most difficult challenges, including from the humanitarian and legal point of view.

We also discussed our future visions and the extremely important and actual directions in which we plan to increase the effectiveness of our joint activities in terms of achieving our common goal”, - said the State Minister.
