Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Thea Akhvlediani held an introductory online meeting with Moldova’s Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian.
At the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of further deepening of partnership relations between the two countries, including the importance of close cooperation and experience sharing between Georgia and Moldova in the process of peaceful resolution of the conflict. The role of the international community in the peace process and the need for further consolidation of support were also mentioned.
Besides, the challenges created in the region as a result of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and ongoing hostilities and its impact on regional security and the world order based on international norms were noted. The State Minister reviewed the priorities, tasks and future visions of the policy of reconciliation and engagement in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions, which aims to promote cooperation, dialogue and restoration of trust between the artificially divided societies based on common interests.
The parties agreed to continue close cooperation.
