The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality held an introductory meeting with the OSCE Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Christoph Späti.
Tea Akhvlediani emphasized the importance of the OSCE’s role and active involvement in the peaceful resolution of the conflict, including through co-chairing the Geneva International Discussions [GID]. She expressed gratitude for the firm support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
The parties discussed the importance of the GID and also reviewed the outcomes of the Ergneti Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism.
The State Minister provided an overview of the security, humanitarian, and human rights situation in Georgia’s occupied regions. She also briefed the diplomat on the progress achieved in implementing the reconciliation and engagement policy and future visions, which aim to improve the socio-economic conditions of the conflict-affected population and deepen dialogue and trust restoration based on common interests between artificially divided societies.
The parties agreed on further close cooperation.
