State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Berris Ekinci.

Tea Akhvlediani introduced the diplomat to the mandate, priorities and goals of the State Minister’s Office. She reviewed the Office’s activities in the areas of reconciliation and engagement, as well as civic equality and integration policies, and spoke about the efforts made by the Georgian government to restore trust and build peace, as well as support for ethnic minorities and strengthen intercultural dialogue.

In turn, the guests thanked the State Minister for providing comprehensive information.

The importance of the strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey for the peaceful and stable development of the region was emphasized.

The meeting was attended by the delegations of both sides, as well as the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia, Ali Orbay, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Turkey, Archil Kalandia.
