The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, held an introductory meeting with Isabella Castrogiovanni, the new representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to Georgia.
Tea Akhvlediani introduced the guest to the progress achieved and future visions in the process of implementing the reconciliation and engagement policy, which aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of the conflict-affected population and to deepen dialogue and confidence-building based on common interests between the artificially divided societies.
During the meeting, the difficult situation existing in the occupied regions from a human rights and humanitarian perspective was discussed.
For her part, the new representative, Isabella Castrogiovanni, expressed support for the activities of the Office of the State Minister and stated her full readiness for future cooperation.
