Extraordinary meeting in frames of the Incident Prevention and Reaction Mechanism took place in village Ergneti, dealing with the incidents occurred between June 11 and June 16. The Georgian side protested the installation of barbed wire fences and banners across the dividing line and demanded the termination of the process.
Participants of the meeting also discussed the issue of crop-yielding for the local population who live in villages near the dividing line. The Ossetian side expressed readiness to prevent any obstacles for the local population. Today also, it was acknowledged that Ossetian side shall deliver the Georgian flag to the Georgian side, removed from Khurvaleti few days ago.
The meeting dealt with the issue of Mr. Vazha Totladze, arrested near the village Knolevi 3 days ago. According to the representatives of de-facto South Ossetian authorities, he will be released in nearest future. The sides also discussed the issues of security and stability across the dividing line.
The next ordinary meeting of Incident Prevention and Reaction Mechanism is scheduled for July 30 in village Ergneti.
The Georgian side is represented by the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and the Ministry of Internal Affairs at IPRM meetings.
