On March 9, 2016 under the arrangement of State Minister’s Office for Reconciliation and Civic Equality a meeting took place with pupils, youngsters and entrants in village Duisi of Akhmeta municipality in Pankisi Gorge, Kakheti district.
Professor Tsira Baramidze, Director of Caucasus Studies Institute at Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University delivered a lecture to young Kists in Pankisi Gorge on the topic: “Caucasus Studies and Essentialities of Linguistics in Nakh Languages.” At the same time, entrants had a possibility to attend a presentation on BA Programmes in Caucasus Studies at the Department of Humanities at Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University.
The aim of the meeting was to support the integration of Pankisi youth into Georgian society and to raise awareness in higher education, importance of Caucasus studies and assistance to determine their future professional activities.
