State Minister’s Office for Reconciliation and Civic Equality presented the implementation report on “State Strategy on Civic Equality and Integration and its respective Action Plan for 2015.”
According to the First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the State Interagency Commission discussed the progress achieved for the integration of ethnic minorities and remaining challenges.
“Each year, the State elaborates a new Action Plan in the frames of the Commission, which figures out specific activities. Our priorities for upcoming year are the same as it has been, including the quality of education for ethnic minority representatives and improved state language awareness that are important priorities for Georgia. The associated challenges create many problems, which acts as impediment for their fully-fledged integration into the political and social lives in Georgia,” – Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili declared.
The Government of Georgia approved the State Strategy on Civic Equality and Integration and its respective Action Plan for 2015-2020 on August 17, 2015.
