Today, bilateral meetings with Co-chairs and US delegation took place in frames of 36th Round of Geneva International Discussions.
The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili chairs the Working Group on Humanitarian Issues.
According to the First Deputy State Minister, Georgian side discussed all those issues that will be featured into the working group meetings on 15 June, respectively. Mrs. Tsikhelashvili noted that the central topic of the meetings in both groups will be the murder of Giga Otkhozoria in village Khurcha, 19th May, also the illegal installation of so called “border defining banners” by occupying force and the issue of illegal arrests.
“The return of IDPs will remain central in frames of the working group. We shall pay a due attention to the cases of human rights violations in the occupied territories of Georgia, especially in Gali district. We should do everything for the mobilization of our partners’ support to ensure that ethnic-Georgian pupils of Gali enjoy their right to receive education into native language,” – the First Deputy State Minister declared after the completion of the meeting.
