Mr. Petre Kankava Appointed as the First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality

Today Mr. Petre Kankava was appointed as the First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality. The State Minister Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili presented her First Deputy before the SMRCE team.
Mr. Petre Kankava was born on 1 August, 1977 in Tbilisi. He graduated from Tbilisi State University in 1999, Department of International Relations and International Law, with a degree in International Relations.
His professional experience in public service covers 17 years.
Mr. Kankava was the Assistant to the Chair of Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee at the Parliament of Georgia in 2015-2016. He held senior position at the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia in 2010-2015. Earlier in 2009 Mr. Kankava chaired the Department of Tourism and Resorts at the Ministry of Economics of Georgia. He also held the positions of First Secretary and Charges D’affaires at Georgian Embassy in the Republic of Cyprus in 2005– 2009 and worked at Georgian Foreign Ministry in 2004-2005. His professional record also includes his service at the Georgian Consulate General Representation in Athens (2000-2004), post of attaché at the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000) and the specialist at the Centre for Foreign Policy Research and Analysis (1999-2000).
