The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili has met with the residents of Shida Kartli villages that are located near the dividing line.
The State Minister familiarized with processing and implemented projects under the auspices of Temporary Governmental Commission.
“As far as you are concerned, I pay regular visits to villages that are located close to dividing line. I would like to reiterate that these regions and specific actions in support of local needs is a priority for the Government. The Temporary Governmental Commission has taken many important steps in last three years, tackling the problem of potable and irrigation water for major parts of villages; gasification is already completed for all communities, whereas ambulatories, public schools and kindergartens are renewed and arranged; students also received 100% funding. The road infrastructure is relatively developed, however there is still much to be done; I have covered this topic into my conversation with locals today,” – Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili declared following her meeting in village Mereti, that was also attended by the residents of Zardiaantkari and Koshka villages.
According to State Minister, even though the major part of years-old problems are resolved in Shida Kartli, the challenges remain.
“We will do our best to address the remaining challenges. We don’t seek to overcome these obstacles alone, but to support socio-economic empowerment of these regions as well,” – Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili declared.
The locals extended their thanks to State Minister for completed projects, expressing hope that similar meetings will be intensified in future. Today also, the State Minister visited Upper Nikozi, Gori municipality.
