The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons Dr. Chaloka Beyani. The Delegation of the UNHCR Representation in South Caucasus also took part into the meeting.
Addressing the members of the delegation, the State Minister gave an overview of the situation in the occupied regions and the condition of IDPs. In her conversation Mrs. Tsikhelashvili reflected on the development of Geneva International Discussions, emphasizing that the dignified return of IDPs remains one of the main topics for the discussion and Georgian Government will keep the topic high into the agenda.
According to Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the support of international partners, including the UN is immensely important for the subjects concerned. Dr. Chaloka Beyani reiterated the support of the United Nations for the issue of IDP return.
