On January 24, 2017, the 42nd meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) took place in Gali.
The participants discussed such issues, as the detention of the murder of Giga Otkhozoria in the village of Khurcha on May 19, 2016 and the freedom of movement. Besides, they exchanged information concerning several other criminal cases and detentions.
As the representatives of the central government of Georgia said, the announced closure of two crossing points (Nabakevi-Khurcha and Meore Otobaia-Orsantia) will have negative impacts on the daily lives of locals who cross the ABL. Especially, for the movement of schoolchildren.
The next IPRM meeting in Gali will take place on 22 February 2017.
