The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili visited the family of Gigi Otkhozoria in Khurcha.


"Today I visited the family of Gigi Otkhozoriya, in order to express again condolences and pay attention. Today we celebrate Mother's Day and it is very difficult to find the words for mother who lost her child. Nevertheless, I want to repeat that we are doing everything to ensure that the perpetrator will be punished. This is a very hard case and the state will not accept if the perpetrator goes unpunished. Giga Otkhozoriya joined the ranks of heroes, who sacrificed life for the future of their homeland. The mothers of such heroes better than everyone understand what the conflict is and how important is its peaceful settlement", - the State Minister said.

Tsikhelashvili handed over to the members of Otkhozoria’s family symbolic gifts.

A 31 year-old Gigi Otkhozoria was shot and killed on May 19, 2016, by Abkhaz so called border guards near the Khurcha-Nabakevi crossing point.
