The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili paid an official visit to Austria.
During the meetings held on March 13-14 in Vienna, she talked about the main priorities and initiatives of the peacekeeping policy of the Georgian government.
Within the framework of this visit, the State Minister met with the Head of the group of special missions of the Austrian Presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation of Europe, Ambassador Florian Raunig and the Secretary General of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Michael Linhart.
Ketevan Tsikhelashvili gave a public lecture at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna on the topic "Georgia's Peace Policy: Reconciliation and Ingagement".
In the course of her public speech, the State Minister spoke about the peacekeeping policy of Georgia in the context of conflict resolution and the situation in the occupied territories. The lecture, attended by experts, politicians, and representatives of the diplomatic corps, was held at the initiative of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the organization of the Georgian Embassy in Austria.
“I told our partners about the main priorities and initiatives of the peacekeeping policy of Georgia, which are aimed at encouraging contacts between people, easing the life to the population isolated by fences in the conditions of the ongoing occupation. Our goal is to strengthen the support of the international community in pursuing a peaceful policy, confidence building between the divided societies and de-occupation”, - said Tsikhelashvili.
During the meeting the State Minister focused on the importance of cooperation with Austria, the OSCE, the European Union and the future agenda.
