On May, 26 the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality will celebrate the Independence Day in Mtskheta

The event dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia will be held in Mtskheta by the organization of the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality.

This year 26 May will have the special theme – it will be dedicated to the 850th anniversary of Rustaveli and his immortal poem "The Knight in the Panther's Skin". The event in Mtskheta and throughout Georgia will be held with the slogan "I'm from Rustaveli’s country".

The State Minister Ketevan Tsikhelashvili welcomes participants of the concert in Mtskheta. Folklore concert will be conducted by youth of the ethnic minorities (the composer Manana Alpaidze will lead the concert). Within the event, young people will read fragments from "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" in different languages.

Also the winners of the essay competition "Georgian Language - Road to My Success" will be named tomorrow. The competition was organized by the State Minister's Office and with the financial support of UN Association of Georgia. Four winners will receive from Ketevan Tsikhelashvili tablets and diplomas.

With the organization of the State Minister's Office in parallel with the concert, there will be the art space for children. They will be able to take part in funny competitions and receive interesting prizes.

The festive event will start at 15:00 at the central square of Mtskheta.
