The meeting with Ambassador Philip Dimitrov and representatives of the EU Delegation was also hosted by First Deputy State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration, Ms. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to State Minister and First Deputy Minister for the meeting.
"Although this is not our first meeting, I wanted to have a meeting, because there are many issues which have to be discussed with this office",- said Ambassador Dimitrov.
Mr. Dimitrov talked about the importance of EU projects and activities in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions as well as other regions of Georgia. The meeting was also attended by Ramon Reigada, Head of Operations of EU Delegation to Georgia and Renata Wrobel, Deputy Head of Political, Press and Information Section.
On her part, Deputy Minister Ms. Tsikhelashvili noted that the EU is one of the main actors in Georgia.
"The EU is likely to play even more important role in confidence building and long-term conflict resolution between the communities living on both sides of "dividing lines". It is also important that at today’s meeting, as well as during meetings of the last two weeks, international partners confirmed their readiness in and support for non-recognition policy", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
In his new capacity as State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration, Mr. Paata Zakareishvili has already held meetings with the ambassadors of different countries and the representatives of international missions such as UN Resident Program Coordinator, Ambassadors of USA, Great Britain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Israel, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Estonia and Australia, also the EU Monitoring Mission coordinator and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
