Ketevan Tsikhelashvili gave detailed explanations about the planned changes.
"Our opponents mostly spread incorrect information and make up myths. Specifically, the statements are made as if the law is revoked or the foreign citizen will have responsibilities declined and not be punished for entering the occupied territories. I clearly state that the law will not be annulled, established rules and the principle of the law will remain invariable as long as the territories of Georgia are occupied. Only the type of responsibility will be changed in the case of violation for the first time - the foreign citizen will incur an administrative liability for the violation of the law on occupied territories and will get the warning. In the case of repetition of the violation she will be punished according to the Criminal Code", - stated Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
She also marked that these are not first changes to the law; already in 2010 and 2011, law amendments were implemented five times. According to Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, western partners of Georgia and international organizations evaluate the law amendments positively.
First Deputy State Minister of Georgia for reintegration also answered the journalists’ questions on different issues. For example, she talked about the free movement on administrative lines, concertino wires along the occupied territories and Russia-Georgia, Georgian-Abkhaz and Georgian-Ossetian relationships.
