This statement was made by Paata Zakareishvili, State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration.

"The current Government of Georgia or the Parliament has not issued any normative act which recognizes the validity of so-called passports issued in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Thus, the information that the new Government has recognized the validity of so-called passports is not true", - said Paata Zakareishvili.

He also noted that the rules which regulate movement in Georgia with this document have not changed either.

"This rule also has not been cancelled. The Government of Georgia has not issued any normative act on this issue and no legal change has been introduced. Thus, I advise Chiora Taktakishvili to stop hysteria and spreading of misinformation and verify the information with the government or to look into the relevant legal acts," - said the Minister.

Paata Zakareishvili also notes that State Strategy towards the Occupied Territories has not changed and the current Government continues to be guided by this strategy.
