"Unfortunately, in breach of international norms and the Ceasefire Agreement, Russia continues these illegal activities - installing barbed wires which is a continuation of the occupation. This process violates and restricts rights of the people living on both sides of the dividing line. That’s why people’s discontent and protest is understandable. Georgian law enforcement agencies are in place in order to prevent incidents and to ensure public safety. In addition, EUMM monitors will be at the area. Yesterday, the mission called on all parties to show restraint and focus on local communities’ concerns. The Government of Georgia is actively working with the international community. Once again, we informed the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions and we will use all formats to achieve a steadfast international response", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili
She also noted that the Georgian side will once again raise the issue of the barbed wire installation by the Russian soldiers during the next round of Geneva Talks
"Of course, both working groups will raise this issue in the next round. This will once again highlight the need that we must continue to speak about international security mechanisms in Geneva, which is on the agenda of the Geneva discussions", - said First Deputy State Minister.
