Population and representatives of local government of village Kirbali and other villages near the dividing line, among them villages of Kareli, Kaspi and Dusheti region attended the meeting. The representatives of the central government familiarized with ongoing and planned projects for the region and talked about the necessity of resolving the problems local population faces.
"Our goal is to once again study the problems of this population in detail. The government has been implementing a special program since May. The program aims to alleviate the living conditions of these people. Their situation has been aggravated due to those unfortunate events that have been underway during these years; I mean the policy of installing barbed wire fences and other artificial barriers. The Government of Georgia has two basic levers. On the one hand, we are using all peaceful instruments of international communication at our disposal. On the other hand, our state’s answer is to help population, not to leave their homes. We are not going anywhere and we do not intend to give up anything, we have to create normal living conditions for these people", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
David Narmania talked about ongoing projects and noted that through the water boreholes in the villages Zardiantkari and Koshka the problem of potable water supply to the village will be solved. According to him, before the end of this year works will begin on two new boreholes - in Gugutiantkari and Didi Khurvaleti.
"In this period, before winter comes, the local population especially asks for supply of gas and heating. This is why it is so important to listen to what the people have to say on the projects already implemented and to receive information about their needs", said David Narmania.
At the meeting, representatives of various communities and villages provided the members of the government with information about the problems they are facing currently.
