Mr. Paata Zakareishvili visited the Russian-language Public School #2 of Marneuli, Azerbaijani-language school in village Sabirkendi and Armenian-language school in village Tsitelsopeli.
The State Minister congratulated on the start of new academic year to teachers and pupils and extended his best wishes, with an emphasis on ethnic diversity and fully-fledged integration of ethnic minorities.
"This day is important for our country, as the school is a basis for the state. Successful school means successful and honorable state and I am extending my best wishes for each one of you. Our diversity and multi-ethnicity is well-represented in Marneuli district and this is a right place for demonstrating how this diversity is transformed into a citizenship," - Mr. Paata Zakareishvili declared, granting deeds for certified pupils of Public School #2 of Marneuli.
The State Minister also provided portable computers to 1st year pupils in the schools of Sabirkendi and Tsitelsopeli villages, issued by the Ministry of Education and Science. The Assistant to Prime Minister Mr. Savalan Mirzoev and the Representative of the State Minister in Kvemo Kartli Mr. Zaur Dargali took part in the ceremony as well. The pupils marked the beginning of the new academic year with dance, song and poetry performances.
