Specifically, Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili familiarized with the results of the research conducted by the UN Women organization. In frames of the research, the organization assessed the needs of ethnic minority women in the regions of Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kakheti and elaborated applicable recommendations.
Ms. Erika Kvapilova, UN Women Country Representative in Georgia and Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili opened the meeting.
"Our office is responsible for the policy of civil integration, including the integration of ethnic minority representatives. Unfortunately, a number of problems still exist today with regard to women in the regions with ethnic minority settlements, including the challenges associated with education accessibility and political participation. At present, we are working for the elaboration of a new policy of civil integration and this assessment is definitely meaningful for us at this stage", - Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili declared.
