The report, which was prepared by the interagency working group created on July 4, 2011 by the Civic Integration and Tolerance Council under the President of Georgia, contains the information on the legislative, judicial, administrative and other measures carried out by Georgia since the submission of its first state report on 1st March 2007. The NGOs working on national minority issues and representatives of the Georgian national minorities have actively contributed to the drafting process of the second cycle report.
Georgia joined the Council of Europe Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities on 22 December, 2005. A state-party should submit first report within one year of entry into force of the Convention and additional reports subsequently every five years, or upon a specific request of the Committee of Ministers.
