The 83rd IPRM meeting took place in Ergneti

On 19 December 2017, the 83rd meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) was held in Ergneti. 

Participants discussed the impact of the installation of new fences, barbed wire and signs on freedom of movement and livelihood opportunities for local communities etc. 

The EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) has raised the issue of preliminary informing on military exercises and other military actions.

The Georgian side drew attention on the case of Davit Basharuli [who went missing in2014 and found dead afterwards] and talked about the necessity of transparent investigation. 

The next IPRM meeting will take place on 24 January 2018.

In February 2009, during the 4th round of the Geneva international talks an agreement on the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) was reached in the direction of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. 

The main goal of this format is to review daily incidents and ensure quick response. 

The Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism, (IPRM), chaired by the UN, with participation of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM). 

The Central Government of Georgia is presented on The Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism with the representatives of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and the State security service of Georgia.
