The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili visited the shelter of the elderly in Khurvaleti, near the dividing line, together with the doctors of St. Joachim and St. Anne Medical Centre.
The State Minister was interested in the conditions of the elderly, congratulated them on the upcoming holidays and presented them with New Year gifts. Different profile doctors conducted to beneficiaries free consultations.
According to Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the State is doing everything in order to ensure the needs of the population living near the dividing line and will continue this care in future.
"Today we arrived to Khurvaleti elderly house in order to congratulate our elderly people for the New Year. First of all, I would like to wish this village peace, which is the most important for this region and the whole country. I also want to wish them health and that why today we come here together with the doctors of the St. Joachim and St. Anne Medical Centre. Of course, if necessary, we will help with the provision of medicines.
"This is a symbolic action from our side. We wanted to express once again the support of the State regarding the people who need this support most of all. Especially here in this village, which is divided into barbed wire fences. These elderly people are also from this village and adjacent villages”, - said the State Minister.
The "House Without Borders" was opened in Khurvaleti, near the dividing line, about a year and a half ago. It’s beneficiaries are from different villages of Shida Kartli.
