On 24 January 2018, the 84th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) was held in Ergneti. Participants discussed so-called borderization process, obstacles caused by artificial barriers, hindering the stabilization of the situation on the ground, the damage to the banners in the Znauri district, incidents since the last meeting etc.
Georgian side drew attention to the need of the investigation of Davit Basharuli’s case and the necessity to deliver the materials of this case to his family.
The participants once again underlined the importance of sharing information on military exercises in a timely manner, pre-announcing it via the Hotline
The next IPRM meeting will take place on 01 March 2018.
In February 2009, during the 4th round of the Geneva international talks an agreement on the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) was reached in the direction of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The main goal of this format is to review daily incidents and ensure quick response.
The Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism, (IPRM), chaired by the UN, with participation of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM).
The Central Government of Georgia is presented on The Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism with the representatives of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and the State security service of Georgia.
