Ketevan Tsikhelashvili expressed her condolences to Archil Tatunashvili's family

The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili visited the village of Tsilkani and expressed her condolences to Archil Tatunashvili's family.

As the State Minister noted, the Georgian government is doing everything in order to ensure the timely investigation of this fact.

"First of all, I once again want to express my condolences to the family. This is a great tragedy for this family and for each of us. According to our information, he was illegally detained in Akhalgori and then taken to Tskhinvali. As we know, the force was used against him, but we do not know in what exact circumstances he died. The responsibility for this fact lies on the occupation regime It’s probably has a specific performer, but the overall responsibility lies in the occupation regime, because we see that it’s directed against people's rights.

"Today the Ministry of Internal Affairs has initiated an investigation into the premeditated murder with aggravating factors and illegal suppression of freedom. As you know in Akhalgori together with Archil Tatunashvili they also detained two citizens of Georgia. Currently we are working together with our partners via Hot line for the immediately release of our detained citizens.

"Throughout the day we are in touch with the Co-Chairs of the Geneva Talks and the EU Monitoring Mission. They are regularly engaged in this process. We will use all the mechanisms to deal with the process", - said Tsikhelashvili.
