Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the British Security Council Advisor

The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the Neil Best, Conflict Adviser of the Programmes Department of Security Council of the United Kingdom.

The main topic of the meeting was the death of Archil Tutunashvili in Tskhinvali and detention of two Georgian citizens - Levan Kutashvili and Ioseb Pavliashvili. The State Minister provided the guest with the existing information and introduced the steps that the Government of Georgia is taking to resolve this problem.

They also talked about the meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (Ergneti, March, 1) and the position of the Georgian participants.

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili noted the high importance of the international community in this process, as well as the pressure on the occupation regime.

The meeting focused on the importance of coordinated work, activation of the peacekeeping policy of Georgia and continuation of coherent actions. It is said that in the current situation it is necessary to make more effort to restore confidence and strengthen the ties between the population living on both sides of the dividing line, separated by barbed wire and other artificial barriers.

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili expressed her gratitude to the British side for the support of Georgia's peacekeeping policy and the position on Archil Tatunashvili's death.
