The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with Britain's Ambassador to Georgia Justin McKenzie Smith and Head of the Group of Oriental Studies of the UK Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alan Parfit.
The meeting focused on the situation in the occupied territories, the violations of human rights, the challenges and difficulties that exist in Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region as well as the population living across the dividing lines.
Ketevan Tsikhelashvili also talked about Archil Tatunashvili's death in Tskhinvali. The State Minister thanked the representatives of Great Britain for expressing their position and support and informed the guests about the steps taken by the Government of Georgia since February 22 to provide the return of the body to the family.
During the meeting, the Georgian government's peacekeeping approaches, measures taken and implemented in the framework of reconciliation and engagement policy, as well as planned future steps were discussed. The guests expressed their support and emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation.
