The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili congratulates the Jews living in Georgia with the Passover celebration.

"I would like to congratulations you on this important holiday - Passover celebration, which denotes the physical and spiritual release of Jews from slavery. This day has a great symbolic role, because it emphasizes the liberty nature of the Jewish people.

"I want to wish each of you peace, success and prosperity. In Georgia, Jews have been living for centuries and our friendship is just as long. This friendship is very valuable for everyone. Culture and religion of Jewish citizens are an integral part of our country", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.

The Passover or Pesach is a Jewish and Samaritan celebration dedicated to the liberation of the Jewish people from the slavery of the Egyptians.

The holiday is ultimately a celebration of freedom, and the story of the exodus from Egypt is a powerful metaphor that is appreciated not only by Jews, but by people of other faiths as well. This biblical celebration is valuable and important for all the Jews and is symbolic for other nations, as Jews in this day show to other humanity, love and loyalty of freedom.
