The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Lasha Darsalia met with the delegation of NATIONAL WAR COLLEGE.
The aim of the meeting was to get acquainted with the situation in the occupied territories. The First Deputy Minister of State informed the guests about humanitarian and security challenges as a result of continuous occupation. He also talked about the problems of the population living in Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region.
The conversation also touched upon the Georgian Government's peace policy. Lasha Darsalia introduced the National War College delegation with the new peace initiative "A Step for a Better Future" and talked about the main directions and goals of the initiative. He emphasized those benefits that this initiative is considering. They also reviewed the specific benefits of the initiative to the people living on the occupied territories.
Last week the Government of Georgia presented an initiative which aims an encouraging of trade across the dividing lines, improving humanitarian and social-economic conditions for residents of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region / South Ossetia
