The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the members of the European Parliament Security and Defense Subcommittee.
During the meeting, the State Minister introduced to the guests new peace initiative "A Step for a Future" and talked about all aspects that this initiative implies.
Ketevan Tsikhelashvili said that the meeting was important and added, that she had previously discussed the problem of security and unsolved conflict with this group.
"We talked about the current situation, the challenges that we and our population faces every day. As well as the efforts of the Government of Georgia.
"The discussion also touched new peace initiatives, which were approved at the first hearing of the Parliament’s plenary session. We think that this is a very important step in the peace policy. It already has a very important and unequivocal support from the EU.
"The European Parliament is working to adopt a special resolution on Georgia, conflict, current situation and support for the peaceful resolution of the conflict in the nearest future. Of course, such a resolution is very important for us. Our task is to do everything possible to ensure that our friends from the European Parliament receive the most objective information
Within this visit, they are going to held important meetings. They are also going to visit dividing line", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
At the end of the meeting, the State Minister answered the questions of the European parliamentarians.
