The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili on the platform of technology park “Dialogue with the next generation" met with students and talked about the topical issues of reconciliation policy, new initiative "A Step for a Better Future", civil equality and integration of ethnic minorities, priorities and challenges.
According to Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, meeting with young people is always important because the future of the country is in their hands.
"This week we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our democratic statehood, but we all know that this fight is not over yet, because more than 20% of our territories are still occupied. This remains a major challenge for our security, and of course it is very important that the efforts of the society and especially the young people are directed towards peaceful settlement of the conflict.
"Today I talked about our peace policy, its main directions, and of course a new peace initiative "A Step for a Better Future ", which largely involves young people and means their involvement. I once again emphasize that communication with young people is very important for me. I hope that this generation will be the most successful in bridges construction, which is so necessary for the reconciliation process", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
The event was organized by the Georgian Youth Representative in UN Giorgi Tumasian. The platform "Dialogue with the Next Generation" aims to improve the direct strategic communication between the government and youth, where young people take part from both the capital and the regions.
