NGOs were informed about IPRM meetings

The working meeting was held between the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, State Security Service, UN Women and NGOs. During the meeting the participants discussed the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meetings, which was held in 2018.

The project has been implemented in cooperation with the State Minister's Office and UN Women's Organization for two years already. Representatives of NGOs and government agencies are regularly informed about the situation at IPRM meetings.

Zviad Zviadadze, the Head of the Department of the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, said that the meeting was fruitful and underlined that the awareness of NGOs is very important.

"The State Security Service provided to the audience detailed information about the current security situation. We focused on social issues - freedom of movement, illegal detentions etc. Participants were interested in Archil Tatunashvili and Giga Otkhozoria's cases and we provided them with existing information.

"We will continue such meetings. The next time it will be held in the regions. In the village of Ergneti, Khurcha or Perevi. In order to hear from the population directly about their problems", - Zviad Zviadadze said.

The meeting was attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations such as “Caucasian mosaics”, "Education and the World", "Commonwealth of Caucasian Peoples", "Greens Movement", Women's Association "Tankhmoba" etc. Representatives of the Public Defender's Office also attended the meeting.
