The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili introduced Government’s new peace initiative "A Step for a Better Future" to the business sector.
The meeting was opened by the State Minister and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia Nino Chikovani. They talked about the aim of the initiative.
According to Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, encouraging trade along the dividing lines is one of the key components of the peace initiative "A Step for a Better Future". That’s why it is necessary to provide to the business sector representatives comprehensive information.
"I think this direction for business and economic actors is especially important. I know that interest exists and today's meeting is the result of this interest.
"The involvement of society's al spheres it is very important. Especially of business, when it comes to trade, economic exchanges, which really has great potential for the improvement of situation, and also, to make close people on both sides of dividing lines and artificial barricades. And, finally, confidence building”, - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
Discussion was held at the meeting organized by Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and co-organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia. Business sector representatives were able to ask questions related to the peace initiative and get answers directly from the State Minister.
